BBQ Inspired Baked Beans!

BBQ Flavoured Baked Beans!

With the high protein character of beans, I have finally found a way to feed my oldest child protein! At times it is hard to get him to eat meat, because of the strings and grizzle that come with meat, the texture turns him away from it. So during my coffee time in the morning I like to watch one half hour cooking show(s). Shows like Triple D, Jaime Oliver, and Anthony Bourdain. Each having their own styles of cooking with a bit of travel included (for me that's a bonus!)

For this recipe which I made for dinner and it's very simple to do. As Burritos were asked to be made I wanted to make a side dish to accompany them. This can also be made as a main course, with a salad on the side.

Ingredients:
2 cans of mixed 6 Beans
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Dash of Taco Seasoning (to taste)
4 Tbsp Ketchup
1 Tbsp Mustard
1 Tbsp BBQ Sauce
2 Tbsp Liquid Honey
Dash Worcestershire Sauce
(HP sauce optional too)
Grated White Cheddar and Jalopeno Cheese, for topping

 Drain and rinse beans

Add to oven proof frying pan

 Add seasoning

 ...then next ingredients and mix

 Top with grated cheese

there you go BBQ Baked Beans!

Drain beans, then add to hot frying pan with oil, then season with taco seasoning. Heat beans so that the beans become tender and skin starts to split and become crisp. Add the next ingredients, mix, then add grated cheese to the top. Bake for 20 minutes @ 350 degrees, serves 6 as a side dish.

I served this with burritos, rice, tortillas chips and condiments...

   ENJOY!

Ahhhh Refreshing Summer...Garden Chicken Salad with Dressing!

Garden Chicken Salad

I love having a fresh salad to eat and today I did a little experimenting with flavours. Fresh herbs and lettuce from my garden were my inspiration! With the flavours of cucumbers, parsley, chives, lemon, vanilla yogurt and a very hot chili pepper this garden salad comes alive!
"Light" but on "Fire" Yogurt Cucumber Salad Dressing
used a fresh chili pepper but used to much!
